Archery:Go for the bull’s eye.  After a safety orientation, an archery instructor will guide the participants through practice shooting.

Advanced Outdoor Cooking Methods:This class emphasis is on minimum impact outdoor cooking and introduces participants to solar cooking, advanced stick cooking techniques, and other unique, unusual methods to cook a simple meal. Each person attending will make and take home three ovens or stoves: solar pizza box oven, portable fire stove, & vagabond or tin can stove with buddy burner. In doing so, they will learn that these stoves support a lot of the Leave No Trace principles.
Class Time: 4 Hrs.

What to Bring: A clean, empty #10 tin can (most often found in restaurants and food service providers and at Walmart); a clean, empty small tuna fish can or 5.5 oz cat food can or water chestnut can with a cutout metal lid; a pair of needle nose pliers, if you have them; and sturdy work gloves as you will be working with sharp metal edges, bandana or hair tie (if long hair)

Cabin Camping:Can't wait to share a troop camping experience with your troop?  This class helps you to complete the Troop Outdoor Certificate.
It is the hands-on prerequisite for taking your troop camping.  At the end of this course participants will be ready to take their troop on a fun and safe ovrnight camping experience.

Camp Store:Camp Meriwether's store is located on the porch of the dining hall near the flag pole.  It will be open once on Saturday and once on Sunday.

Canoeing: Attend a brief safety orientation, then glide into the lake in your canoe.  A canoe instructor will oversee this activity.  All participants must wear personal floatation devices and shoes.

Dutch Oven Cooking: This class provides information to adult volunteers so they can safely use a Dutch oven and prepare various meals in the outdoors. Content includes: buying and caring for cast iron cookware, distributing coals safely and correctly, and cooking techniques for meal preparation.

Trail Ride: Must have a minimum of 5 people. Participants in this activity must have previous riding experience and be able to lead a horse, mount, dismount, and control the horse at the walk. For safety reasons, all riders will remain in the ring for a group riding lesson if any cannot pass the riding control test. The riding instructor is responsible for the safety of each group and will determine whether the group is ready to go on the trail. Proper shoes and long pants are required. This activity lasts about one hour. The group will spend approximately 30 minutes in the arena and reviewing safety procedures, and 30 minutes on the trail.
